The Lake of Banyoles has an enormous variety of vegetation and flora, both under the water and surrounding its perimeter. It provides an extremely valuable habitat for hygrophilous species that live in aquatic environments.
The water lilies (Nymphaea alba) are the most visible part of the floating aquatic vegetation we can see on the Lake, a natural decoration that is concentrated particularly in certain parts of the east bank, between the Tourist Information Office and the Old Baths.
