Estany gelat

Can Pericus: l'Estany gelat

This establishment, conceived as a gastrobar, has revived the popular name of the ancestral home of the family behind it, and offers unique culinary experiences based on the quality of their products, with a firm commitment to ecological and sustainable cuisine. They offer a cosmopolitan and diverse menu, with a special emphasis on sweets. Their extensive selection is available for eat-in or take away, including dessert boards for special occasions.

One of their most striking creations is the Estany gelat, a house-made ice cream dessert in the shape of the Estany de Banyoles lake, made with natural ingredients including organic apple and lemon juice, combined with organic spirulina. This ice cream, designed by Qui mana studio, not only pays tribute to the Estany, but also wants to raise awareness about the vital importance of water for our ecosystems, especially in the context of the climate emergency that we are currently experiencing. It has also been awarded with a 2024 Delta bronze award organized by the Barcelona FAD.

The fourth generation of the family is currently managing 4 establishments in Banyoles. The first was founded in 1899 and has been preserved for more than 125 years.
