Gelat de crema catalana

Golafreria Can Janeret: refreshing sweetness

Founded in 2011, artisan ice cream parlour Can Janeret is a trusted favourite among fans of great ice cream and banyolina confectionery. Anna and Jaume run the show, having learned their trade from Dolors del Mirallac, and from day one they have plumped for quality and seasonal and proximity products, such as the fresh milk that arrives every day from a local farm.

Can Janeret offers more than 60 flavours of housemade ice cream, including the delicious Crema Catalana, faithful to a centuries-old family recipe, Ratafia (bitter almond), a blend of tradition and originality, and the refreshing lemon and mint.

They’re also known for their confectionery, with specialities such as Cansalades banyolines (Banyoles ‘Bacon’ sponge fingers), individual Tortades (mini-sponge cakes), Remolins de l’Estany (‘Small cakes of different flavours’), and Sares (almond sponge cakes). And at Christmas, they make exceptional torron – the festive Catalan nougats – in a variety of flavours, such as dark chocolate carquinyolis (Catalan almond biscuits like biscotti) with ratafia (bitter almond liqueur). For the sweet tooths among us, you simply can’t go past Can Janeret!
