Can Trull Vell

Can Trull Vell is a large farmhouse complex made up of a main building and several adjoining structures, located in a setting that reflects the traditional rural organisation of the Pla de l’Estany region. The main building has a rectangular floor plan and is particularly notable for its two-storey arcaded gallery, formed by semicircular arches, which gives it an elegant and distinguished appearance.

Originally, this privately owned house was known as Can Rodeja and was the residence of the Trull family, later inherited by the Coromina family. The arcaded gallery is one of the farmhouse’s most distinctive features and illustrates the building’s evolution towards a more manor-like architectural style, adapting to the needs of an ancestral residence that combined agricultural functions with social prestige.

The construction materials and architectural features, such as the stone walls, regularly arranged openings and practical internal layout, bear witness to the passage of time and the transformations that shaped Catalan rural architecture. Can Trull Vell is therefore an outstanding example of how the farmhouses of the Pla de l’Estany evolved over the centuries, combining agricultural production with the social status of the families who lived in them.
