Can Tassi

Mas Tassi (or Can Tassi) is a privately owned fortified house that has been protected as a Cultural Asset of National Interest since 1985.

It is an old ancestral residence associated with the Tassi family of knights, featuring a tower of medieval origin dating from between the 13th and 16th centuries. The square-plan tower preserves windows with monolithic lintels, an arch made of voussoirs on the ground floor, and remains of Gothic windows. Other notable features of the complex include an outer gateway and a rear porch with semicircular arches.

Mas Tassi is one of the most significant examples of fortified residential architecture in the municipality, bearing witness to the social organisation and defensive needs of the medieval period in the Banyoles area.
