Ajuntament de Banyoles

The Banyoles Town Hall is one of the most important institutions in the city, serving as the center of political and administrative activity in the municipality. Located in the heart of the city, the building is a witness to the history and evolution of Banyoles, combining architectural elements that reflect both medieval influences and modern style. Its origins date back to 1224, when the town was granted the privilege of having its own town hall, following significant growth during the Middle Ages. At that time it was located in the Pia Almoina building.

The current building, although remodeled over time, retains important historical features, such as its architecturally valuable façades and its essential role as a center of public and political life. In addition to its administrative function, the Banyoles Town Hall is also a meeting point for various cultural and social activities, such as community events and festivities, contributing to the city's vitality and dynamism. The people of Banyoles and visitors alike often view it as a symbol of the city’s commitment to its heritage and shared future.
