Cal Moliner or ‘the Mill of the Square’ is the only building in the Plaça Major that has only one floor built above the vault. It was first documented in the 13th century and it was the site of a former flour mill driven by the water of the Rec Major.
The backyard has the waterfall that moved the wheels of the two flour mills: the corn mill, which is still preserved; and the flour mill, demolished and rebuilt.
It is currently not open to visitors due to the works of the future Banyoles Art Center - Gimferrer Collection.
