Discover Banyoles with this self-guided orienteering game which takes you to 14 emblematic places with some interesting facts about the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The itinerary must be followed individually and at each place, participants will find a QR code that will give information related to the different Olympic and Paralympic sports. Along the route, participants will be asked questions in the leaflet written for the Olympic Itinerary, deciphering an Olympic Message hidden in the document.
It is suitable for all ages and its goal is to tell you about the Olympic sports, historic events and Olympic athletes, with particular emphasis on Banyoles and its environs as Olympic subvenue for Rowing in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
To take part in the game, you will need the activity sheet (with the instructions, map and questions), a mobile phone to read the QR codes and a biro to answer the questions and complete the Olympic message.
You can collect the activity sheet free at the Tourist Information Office or you can download the digital version by clicking here.
This Olympic Itinerary was created on the occasion of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as a joint project between the Town Council of Banyoles and the University of Girona’s Sport and Physical Education Chair - Centre of Olympic Studies, which is based in Banyoles.
