Aloja is Banyoles’ medieval and fantasy fair. Very much geared to families, Aloja aims to tell people about the town’s medieval origins and its many legends with local themes that have been passed down orally from grandparents to grandchildren.
During one weekend in October, the streets of the town’s Old Quarter and especially the Plaça Major and the park by the Walls become transformed to relive combats between knights, the entry of Abbot Bonitus, the monastery’s first abbot, a medieval market and many other activities and workshops that will appeal to all ages.
